Articles no longer disappear (and get lost as read) when you switch tabs or windows and come back; the list only changes when you refresh, change view or toggle the filter.
Selecting text further down an article no longer jumps the page back to the top of the article.

Show: all / updated in the sidebar, like Google Reader: "updated" hides subscriptions and folders with no unread items. Your choice is remembered on each device.
What's new popup: a short, easy-to-close summary of key features and recent updates, shown automatically only once per announcement; reopen it anytime from "What's new" in the top bar.
Remembered reading preferences: the reader now keeps your chosen view (List / Expanded) and filter (Unread only / All items) on each device, with a new "Reading preferences" section in Settings.
This changelog, also public at /changelog and linked from the footer and Settings.
Highlights & notes: select text in any article to highlight it (single yellow marker, shortcut h) and attach a note; highlights persist when you return to the article.
Highlights section in the sidebar listing every highlight and note, grouped by article. Works in trial mode too (stored in the browser).

Highlight toolbar and note popover now stay anchored to the text while scrolling instead of closing or drifting; they close on Save, Close, Escape or a click outside.

Trial / guest mode: use the reader without an account, from the landing page or the sign-in page.
Local storage: trial data stays in the browser; feeds are fetched through public server functions that never touch the database.
